The Green Idea Fellowship (GIF) is a flagship fellowship program of Pokhara Agrotourism Academy and Research Centre (PAARC Nepal) designed to identify, mentor, and support national and international fellows who are passionate about sustainability, agriculture, wellness, innovation, and community development. The fellowship provides an interdisciplinary platform where participants engage in research, experiential learning, innovation, and collaborative action to develop practical solutions that contribute to environmental conservation, regenerative agriculture, wellness tourism, and sustainable livelihoods.
The fellowship combines knowledge, research, field experience, mentorship, and innovation, enabling fellows to transform creative ideas into impactful projects, enterprises, policies, or community initiatives that promote a greener and healthier future.
Objectives
- To identify and nurture emerging green leaders and innovators by providing opportunities for research, mentorship, and experiential learning in sustainability, agriculture, and wellness tourism.
- To promote innovative research and practical solutions that address environmental, agricultural, and community development challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration.
- To strengthen national and international collaboration by bringing together fellows, researchers, universities, professionals, and communities to exchange knowledge and best practices.
- To empower fellows to transform innovative ideas into action by supporting the design and implementation of sustainable projects, social enterprises, and community initiatives.
- To develop a global network of Green Idea Fellows committed to environmental stewardship, responsible tourism, organic agriculture, and sustainable development, creating lasting positive impacts in their communities and beyond.
